Francis Courtot
Born on 15 August, 1960, doctor in computer science (artificial intelligence &), currently teaching musicology in Lille.
Formerly an autodidact composer, jazzer for a while, he studied computer sciences in order to work at Ircam.
Then, he has studied composition under Brian Ferneyhough, Klaus Huber, Tristan Murail, Luis de Pablo in the Abbaye of Royaumont.
He says: I attempt at circumscribing a closure of modernity, arising out of figural trajectories submitted to inductive processes, and «consideration». My scores have been created by such performers as S:I,C, Françoise Rivalland, Kammer-ensemble für Neue Musik from Berlin, Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Garth Knox Court-Circuit, 2E2M, Contre-champs… I am also musical advisor for the theater company Le Limon.
